Triathlon '09

The youth group leaders heard, through a church member, of a family with a child, called Tilly, that has Smith Magenis Syndrome (a very rare genetic condition).  They are trying to raise funds to build a special room for her, where she will be safe be able to receive the therapy that may help her. Follow this link for the Mum’s blog about her daughter, Smith Magenis Syndrome and what they are trying to do. Follow this link for a Sky News  piece about Tilly.

We decided that we should try and raise some money to help the family. So, we are holding a sponsored triathlon on Saturday 6th June. The idea is that collectively we will cycle the distance from John O’Groats to Lands End, swim the English Channel and run a marathon. More details will be coming real soon.

Please join us and help us raise heaps of money to make the life of this little girl and her family just a little bit better.

A big thank you to all those that participated. We raised about £1200. None of this would have been possible without your support.
